
Students will engage in fun activities as they learn and practice skills related to executive functioning. We will focus on raising awareness and strategies for:
Self-regulation
Organization
Flexibility
Recognizing feelings related to challenges
Task completion
Students will learn the acronym CHIPS as a way to remember how they can use their skills:
C – can I restate directions?
H – how long will it take to complete this task?
I – I’ve got the materials I need
P – I will persist to complete this task
S – I can self-regulate
Students will end the week, applying the skills we’ve targeted, in a culminating activity. This could be making a game, cookies or something else that fits the students’ interests!
