The history and design of Washington, DC are rich, layered, and nuanced, and the best way to learn about the city and region is to explore and experience it first hand.
Join GDS DC history teacher Anthony Belber to take a close-up look at different neighborhoods in the Washington area. We’ll use a mini-bus, Metro, and our feet to move through a variety of locations, learning about their history, layout, current character, and even tasting what they have to offer. In addition to daily field trips there will also be some time spent in the classroom to study maps and to establish background knowledge and history before exploring each neighborhood.
